About La Punta Expendio de Agave

La Punta is a project by Roberto Artusio and Cristian Bugiada, later joined by Claudio Sblano, focused on promoting and spreading Mexican culture in all its forms. It began in 2014 and officially came to life in 2016 with the opening of La Punta Expendio de Agave — an agave bar where Mexican spirits meet street food.
From there, numerous educational initiatives took off, creating and strengthening over the years a bridge between Italy and Mexico — built on relationships, collaborations, and dedicated research.

The bartender
Cristian Bugiada
Cristian Bugiada, Sicilian mixologist based in Rome, co-owns Freni e Frizioni and founded La Punta Expendio de Agave in 2016, a landmark for Mexican spirits enthusiasts. His passion for agave led to explorations in Mexico and earned him the title of World Ambassador of Mezcal in 2018. In 2023, he created a documentary on Mexican culture and launched Agavesito, the first agave syrup for mixology, alongside the low/no ABV-focused La Cola. As a creative and entrepreneur, Cristian continues to innovate in the industry.
